Why can’t you give up dairy and gluten?? Because they are addictive!! Once you know that, you can work on breaking free.
Our class last night was so fun and informative. Beth alluded to this concept, and I think it bears repeating and a deeper dive.
Both cows’ milk and wheat have opiods in them. (Human breast milk has this too!) This is to keep a baby calf interested and calm. It also helps with the baby/mommy bonding process. These opiods are highly addictive. Somestudies show that they are as addictive as opiate DRUGS. Think I am wrong? Just try to give either up for a week. Even the thought of it brings out agitation in some people.
That is why it is so incredibly hard to give up cheese and bread. You aren’t crazy. And now on the market, very few packaged foods come without either cheese or gluten.
So, what can one do? Well, don’t beat yourself up for heaven’s sake! Begin by finding substitutes. Try coconut creamer, almond milk, non gluten breads and crackers. Are these perfect foods? No, but they are better then real bread and milk. Start there. Patience, love and substitutes could be your start to a healthier lifestyle.
Our class helps students get off these foods that are opiod containing and acid producing. Consider coming to our next one, or purchasing the book and doing it at home. Either way, do it!!!
