Tahini Miso Sauce

mindfulnutrition-garlicbulbHere is a warm sauce to heat up your belly this time of year. Kids love it too. This is a savory sauce to replace fake margarine you may spread on your toast or bottled sauces that you pour over your dinners. It’s really easy and only takes a few minutes to make.

Tahini Miso Sauce

1 cup raw organic tahini
2 sprigs of spring onion
1 clove of minced garlic (optional)
water to thin, about 1/4 cup
2 tbsp. red miso

Over low heat, put tahini in pan and warm. Put in onion, garlic and water and stir. Slowly add in more water to desired consistency. Add in miso and more water and stir, being very careful not to boil the sauce. The enzymes in the miso will die off if heated too high.

Pour sauce over rice and beans, or spread on some rice bread. So yummy and great to have this time of year.
