Kale Harvesting

MindfulNutrition - Kale

Woohoo!  It’s kale harvesting time!!!

OK, so not a full on harvest.  Maybe a minor “plucking”?  I tried with a few small plants.  It was totally fun and I got some gorgeous leaves out of them.  Next year, I will plant so many more.

So, what to do with all the leaves and the green yumminess?  I washed them all and removed the stems.  You can easily do this by running a super sharp knife along the stem. Then, I put the leaves in a Ziplock, no drying time needed.

What do I do with the Ziplock?  Put it in the freezer!!  Now I will have fresh kale for a few weeks to come.  All I do is crumble it, frozen and all, into my Vitamix.  There are my smoothies.

So eazzy peazy lemon squeezy!!!

IF you don’t have a Vitamix, you HAVE to get one.  Let me know and I will give you the coupon code which saves a little bit.
